Hi all.

My name is Paul Doocey. I have worked in the Fitness Industry for over 20 years and I am the owner of Commit Fitness.

In this time, I have noticed how people didn’t seem to change body shape even with regular gym sessions. When looking into the detail, I started teaching different classes including boxing and circuit training. The classes I taught were intense and included body weight exercises mixing it up with weight training, cycling and running. I quickly noticed that the people who stuck it out and attended all my classes started to change body shape and become much stronger and fitter.

This told me a lot of things:

  1. Motivation is key. With other people around you encouraging and pushing you it helps to keep you focused and motivated ensuring more enjoyable and beneficial workouts.
  2. If the workouts are different every session your body will not become complacent. Where most people go wrong in the gym is when they opt for similar workouts, their body getting used to doing the same thing over and over again, doing what they want to do and not what they SHOULD be doing.
  3. To be part of a group, make friends, work as a team, push each other, and compete against one another will help to retain everyone’s focus.
  4. Long hours training in the gym doesn’t maximise training potential. Change the workouts daily, keep the interest, and keep your body guessing is the way forward.

At Commit Fitness, we won’t let you train on your own. EVERY session is coached – Your technique, reps, speed, distance, heart rate and resistance. Everything is monitored and tested if it isn’t, well, you’re just guessing, and we DON’T guess anything!

The sessions or WOD’s (Work Out Of the Day) as they are now more commonly known in the industry are tailored for every level of strength and fitness. For the first few weeks you attend, don’t expect to be able to walk through the door and accomplish everything. There are skills and techniques to be learnt and mastered. They are broken down into small segments in order for you to process and learn them. If you would like additional help to reach your goals we also offer 1-2-1 personal training sessions.

Come down, speak to the trainers and most importantly speak to the clients and see what they have to say. I’m passionate and confident in what I do and this spreads throughout the Centre.

Commit Fitness only has the equipment I believe in and use. Everything was bought for a reason. You won’t find anyone on a hip abductor machine texting or reading a magazine. If you want to be motivated in a great environment with great people, by master trainers and never look back….. Let’s Go!
